Launch To The Future

Live
for National Science Week 2027

LAUNCH TO THE FUTURE: A STEM Story is a 40-minute, live in-school STEM experience for National Science Week 2027, celebrating the official schools theme: Celebrating Science: past, present and future.

Through space science, discovery and innovation, students explore how scientific ideas and achievements of the past have shaped the world we live in today - and how science, technology, engineering and maths can help us imagine what is possible for the future.

Through a series of high-energy comedy sketches, professional actor/educators use audience suggestions to create hilarious, one-of-a-kind scenes that bring STEM concepts to life.

This interactive incursion puts students at the centre of the action, as their ideas help shape each sketch - meaning no two shows are ever the same! Using real-world examples from space science, discovery and innovation, students celebrate the big ideas and creative thinking that have brought us to where we are today, before looking ahead to the discoveries, challenges and possibilities of tomorrow.

Most importantly, students discover that they can be part of what comes next.

FROM THE PAST, TO TODAY, TO WHAT COMES NEXT

Throughout the performance, students are encouraged to consider:

  • PAST The scientific discoveries, ideas and achievements that have helped shape our world.

  • PRESENT How science and STEM are part of our everyday lives and continue to help us understand, innovate and solve problems.

  • FUTURE How curiosity, creativity and STEM thinking can lead to new discoveries—and how today’s students can help shape what comes next.

STUDENTS WILL LEARN:

  • SCIENCE:

How scientific discovery helps us understand our world and solve the seemingly unsolvable

  • TECHNOLOGY:

How scientific ideas and innovation drive the technologies we use every day

  • ENGINEERING:

How space engineering turns big ideas into new solutions

  • MATHS:

How maths helps us understand today and imagine what is possible for the future

RESOURCE PACK:

All our programs include a detailed Teacher Toolkit, Resource Pack and Student Activities compiled alongside education and industry experts. Resources include pre- and post-show activities, videos, downloads and digital resources that extend the National Science Week experience beyond the performance and encourage students to continue exploring science, STEM innovation and the possibilities of the future.

All scheduled schools receive login details for both teachers and students to access the Resource Hub all year long.

CURRICULUM CONNECTIONS:

All of our programs align with relevant educational standards and pair excellently with what students are learning in class.

Launch to the Future connects National Science Week 2027 with learning across Science, Technologies and Mathematics, while encouraging curiosity, critical and creative thinking, problem-solving and an understanding of how STEM can shape our future.
